HOW BEAUTIFUL HEAVEN MUST BE

Time signature:  3/4  (See note below)
Tempo: varies widely, average ~110  bpm.
Lyrics by Mrs. A. S. Bridgewater
Music by A. P. Bland
NOTE:  This tune is normally written in compound 6/8 time, which usually means two beats per bar. However, there is a simple 3/4 underlying beat in most of the youTube performances below.

For that reason I've shown the accordion notation in 3/4, rather than 6/8, time.  If playing quickly, you can easily convert to 6/8 time, if you wish, by assigning a single beat to each of the given bars, and putting an emphasis on every second beat.  Played slowly, it sounds much better in 3/4 time.

Accordion Notation
Beats per bar =  3
One beat = 1 dot (or equivalent)

Background Materials, Information & Links

Lyrics:

We read of a place that's called heaven,
It's made for the pure and the free;
These truths in God's word He has given,
How beautiful heaven must be.

Chorus:    How beautiful heaven must be
                Sweet home of the happy and free;
                Fair haven of rest for the weary,
                How beautiful heaven must be.

In heaven no drooping nor pining,
No wishing for elsewhere to be;
God's light is forever, there shining,
How beautiful heaven must be.

The angels so sweetly are singing,
Up there by the beautiful sea;
Sweet chords from their gold harps are ringing,
How beautiful heaven must be.
