Uploaded by Nomad Jones on Apr 15, 2011, with the undeserved negative comment "Just off Glencoe we hear a noise like a chainsaw going through a bag of cats and this is what we found."  Just ordinary folks enjoying their music.

There are four beats per bar  (played usually with a rhythmic pattern of 1-2-3-4- ).

The bass drummer in the video at right hits beats 1 and 3 on the down-swing and beats 2 and 4 on the up-swing, at least in the first part. Near the end, he "jazzes it up a bit".)

BACKGROUND MATERIALS, INFORMATION & LINKS

Lyrics:

Should old acquaintance be forgot,  and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,  and days of old lang syne?

CHORUS:For auld lang syne, my dear,  for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,  for days of auld lang syne.

And surely you’ll buy your pint cup!  and surely I’ll buy mine!
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,  for days of auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have run about the slopes,  and picked the daisies fine;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,  since days of auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have paddled in the stream,  from morning sun till dine†;
But seas between us broad have roared  since days of auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there’s a hand my trusty friend!  And give me a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,  for days of auld lang syne.

CHORUS
